This is what I was referring to:
first and easiest way to do it is if your jack mounting plate has the common symmetrical 3-bolt flange is to just unbolt it and rotate it 90degs (towards the drivers side) so that the large electric jack head does not interfere with the tailgate shown in the picture.
Second way to do it is if your jack has a non symmetrical mounting flange then you can unbolt the electric jack head and rotate the electric jack head 90degs, most are predrilled with a second set of bolts, if not then you can easily drill them out as shown in this video:
