Great info on the pans there Lynn. The differences in these pictures are exactly what has been explained to me about the differences in a factory pan to the over-the-counter units. The spot weld counts, the extra depression (clearance pressing) in the hump, and that reinforcing rib in the center of the pan. The 70 pans are quite similar if I recall. I have one here that was modified to look more like a 69 original and will go check it.
Thanks for that link Zman.

Jason (SupernovaSS) has a really nice oil pan on ebay, believed to be an early NOS pan from the 70s.
"This pan is an NOS unit from the 70s that was installed but the engine was never installed or started." https://www.ebay.com/itm/37363467250...4AAOSwAwRg3gyH If there is a difference in the 69 Z/28 pan and the 70 Z/28 pan, I would expect they would show on this pan as well. It looks a lot like the assembly line pan I used in the comparison posted on Team Camaro a few years ago.

Ooooh, free publicity! Thanks Lynn. Yes, I think this was a NOS pan that was installed on the block but never started. Check out the paint masking around the drain plug. I believe that is factory.
