Lynn, Yes I found Yellow on my 68's (F-body)
It was more on the sleeve and orange on the tie rod ends. Crud my car had colors all over it,,When I asked about this John Z mentioned that they were not uniformly applied as some cars were pulled and audited and received additional inspections,,,, Jim

My 08A '69 had no inspection marks on tie rods. Both spindles had paint dabs, one red (almost orange) and the other white. I always assumed those were there just to distinguish left from right during assembly. Also had the green PTB on the firewall, but I could only make out the P and the B. Don't know if the T got washed off, or was never applied.
