I drove my first Superbird, daily, to highschool at age 16, back in the 70's when they were considered just another used car. And I parked it at the local Fair Auto Supply store in West Haven, CT, where I worked 5 days a week after school. I think that carbon dates me as a Mopar Neanderthal.

Same here... I drove my 1969 Hemi Road Runner & 1968 Hemi Charger R/T as daily drivers in the 1970s and early 80s.

BTW, I am not looking to argue about whether a converted duct is as good as an original Hemi part... it is not IMO. Fortunately, my RR has the original Hemi Air Grabber hood.

See attached pic of my Hemi RR back in the 1970s...

Hate to bust your bubble, but I have many decades experience with Mopars, Packards, Studebakers, etc., etc., etc.. And as you so eloquently explained if the original "Hemi" part started out life as the lowly wedge part (which it probably did), then taking the wedge part and modifying it (now) as the factory did would mean that you just turned it in to a "hemi" part...just like Mopar did.

You can't do that with real live honest to God "Hemi specific" parts.

Oh yeah, my post count on this one forum means nothing, except to those who think they're better, holier, whatever, because they have more posts on "this forum". Cause when it gets down to it, this forum doesn't mean much outside of this forum

Wow...all that experience...and not a bit of tact, manners or friendliness! You should be proud.

Glad you wasted everyone's time to come onto this site to argue about semantics.

Do us a favor and don't enlighten us any more with your vast knowledge...we already have someone here that has forgotten more than you could ever know...and he's the antithesis of you!

Move along...nothing to see here...

Neat old photos! The black 68 Charger even has the National Hemi Owners Association vanity plate. Awesome cars.

Where was that photo of your black car taken? That black Superbird next to your car looks familiar. I think I've seen it before.

Here's my old high school parking lot photo. Which one of these is not like the others?
