![]() I'm sure the locals thought you guys were crazy for bidding what you did on that car. I know the conservative mentality of that area all too well... the smile on Dave standing next to the original owner tells the story. |

That's one of the coolest finds I've seen in a long time. It doesn't get much better than that.
![]() ![]() Just be careful if you decide to buff it. Nothing abrasive or all that 60's 70's clear laquer will be on the pad. |

At the auction we had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with the original owner Doug E. he is from the Cleveland area of Parma Heights. As you see the photos we did ABSOLUTELY nothing to the car except load it up and head back to Columbus. Doug E. worked at Myles Engineering back in the day his best ET. was an 10.66 @ 133. He left the original motor @ Thompson Speedway in pieces. The original selling dealer was Rodenfels Chevy on Pearl Rd. The rear 1/4 panel if you look very closely still has his name. Talking to the nephew and brother of the second owner, Joe only took the car out 2-3 times when he owned it and parked it in 1974. The car did track time @ PID, Norwalk, Bristol,Rockingham,Lakeland Florida, Beckley WV. Dragway 42. Doug E. recalls racing against Larry Morgan back when he ran Fords. The car became a racecar the day it came home to Pleasant Valley Rd. in Parma Heights. The mileage is 100% correct...just look at the pebblegrain in the steering wheel. It WILL NOT get restored....only freshened up and doing track time at National Trails....Dave's shifting and tuning ability is pretty damn good. He told me he always wanted a 69 Camaro Racecar...well here it is.
