Default Ebay...

I been selling a little bit of stuff lately and been thinking of having a big sale on eBay lately with spendy items like NOS sheetmetal. (Sorry no Camaro, Nova or Chevelle metal). The few times I been selling on there lately, I did the normal auction..start it out at 9.99 or 49.99 or 99.99 depending on what it is. The bad thing is no ones bidding on it to win or even meeting a low reserve- like last week when I had a set of NOS hood hinges for a 70 Chevelle.

I was thinking..do I keep this up or do mark it a little under market value and go fishing or go low and let it run its course?

I'm a little lost on todays market compared to a few years ago on what works and what doesn't.

I start most all my auctions at $4.95 and let people fight over the stuff. But when I buy, I have no problem hitting the button if the buy~it~now price is within reason either. Selling is a bit of a gamble, but my items usually bring more than I expect, and sometimes when the item won't meet reserve one week, when I relist it a couple of weeks later with no reserve, it sells for twice what the reserve was a few weeks before. I'm sure others will let you know their feeings on the subject.

Try a "buy it now or best over" fixed price auction.

List and end autions on Sunday night. Highest traffic by far. Put a reserve if you feel it is nessisary, and make sure you've got good key words for the search.

I can't sell anything that ends on Sunday night. For me it's best to end on Wednesday evening or sell it before the end of the auction. Remember your first offer is probably going to be your best offer. JMO, Ed

Contact Jason (supernovaSS) for pointers on selling on e-bay. I see him get the best money for his stuff most of the time.
