Perseverance pays off Eric. Sounds like you found a body man with the same work ethics you have. Hard to do these days, eh?
Hope everything works out for you, him and the shop owner's wife. Great shots of the progress. Thanks for taking the time to post.

Eric, looks good!! Make sure you stay on top of the body guy so he doesn't "forget" about his work or put it off and get involved in something else.. Sometimes some of these body guys have a tendency to do that unfortunately...

I'm not really worried about bodyguy getting side-tracked, he's been pretty spot-on in regards to his stated time lines so far. Besides, I'm sure he wants to get the car done almost as much as I do, if for no other reason than to get it out of his face.
The mechanical aspects of automobiles have always came to me naturally, but when it comes to bodywork...let's just say I couldn't sand a panel flat even if you had a gun to my head. Admitting that I don't know my a$$ from my elbow when it comes to the finer points of bodywork has always left me with a strong respect for those who do and do it well. At this stage of this project, ("debacle" is more like it right now) that sense of respect has been expounded exponentially...not only in regards to the knowledge and skill that it takes to do this work, but the dogged patience and perseverance that it requires...not only from the craftsmen who build them, but for the owners who manage to see the jobs through. I've read more threads than I can count where I've watched some of you start with bigger piles than mine and in a matter of months transform them into better-than-new condition, right down to the OE style spot welds and inspection marks. Cubic $$$ obviously comes into play quite often, but even so, cubic talent is still required. To those of you who can do this, you have my profound respect. |

Good on YOU Eric. We are enjoying the ride that you are taking us on. This is my favorite part of these forums: watching projects evolve back to life!
