Default Re: Looking for a Martin-Senour paint help.....

Sorry to dig up an old post of mine but I had to respond giving new info. It looks like this paint issue is nationwide. The funny thing is 72RRunner is very well aware of the problem with Martin Senour paints per a couple painters down here in the ATL area that he has tried to help. Also there was a major recall done by Martin Senour regarding their basecoat fixer #CF223 back in September and November of last year. The basecoat fixer is usually called basemaker by other companies or the mixing clear. From what we have found the formula was "contaminated" or "not to spec" as later batches were. So if anyone else has had any issues with Martin Senour or Sherwin Williams paint since January 2009 then you might want to contact your dealer/distributor: especially if the base didn't cure or if the clear started cracking due to soft base underneath. There are some other guys that have posted up pictures of their messed up paint jobs on other sites recently and all have the same issue and were painted around the same time using the same brands of paint. Doesn't look good for Martin Senours reputation.
