I'll play, just because I love this &quot;day 2&quot; stuff. Here's my Chevy II with the &quot;poor boy street racer&quot; look. Black steel wheels and chrome lugs. Lots of folks just pulled the caps for the &quot;racer look&quot; back in the mid-60s when they could not afford wheels. See the vintage '62 409 pic on page 2 of this thread.

It has a 327 under the hood and a Muncie 4-spd on the bench that will be replacing the Powerglide in a month or two. [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/smile.gif[/img]

I'm thinking I need a set of chrome reverse wheels and piecrusts on the rear.

I have just run across some day 2 Mr Gasket valve covers that I have never seen before:











Anyone know anything about these?

I am guessing pre-69 as it has the weird breather cage, but maybe the other side had some sort of adapter that allowed the cap to be twisted on. Unfortunately all I have is pictured
