Sorry to bring this back from the past... been lurking around here for awhile, But I know this car very well, I understand being cautious It does have stacks of paperwork and baldwin paperwork. It does get driven locally (He is from RI) it might not be a perfect point car, but not far from it. It mostly gets put into a trailer and taken to shows. Check out Goodguys where it won and finalist another year. Currently it is parked in a garage less than 100 yards from me with a blown real main seal and waiting to be fixed in the spring. Next to some other interesting vehicles... Sorry I just wanted to clear the air.. If its fake I would be surprised the owner is a stand up guy and one of the nicest people you will ever meet. He is standing in the back round in one of the pics.

It looks fake to me. Not enough Motion pieces on it in my opinion. Nice car though.

I think its a nice car. Doesn't matter to me whether its real or not as long as the guy that owns it is happy

Hi Chew...The issue is a post above where HighPerf says he sat in the car when it had a bench seat and a 6 cylinder.

Btw thank you I can use all the blessing I can get..

A far smaller Chevy snagged the title at the 17th East Coast Nationals, held at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds in Rhinebeck, New York, from September 12-14: the big-block 1968 COPO Chevy II owned by David and Cheryl Horton of Bristol, Rhode Island. Delivered to Baldwin Chevrolet and fortified with a 425hp, 427-cu.in. big-block, this numbers-matching machine sports the factory Butternut Yellow hue and an M21 four-speed.

From http://www.hemmings.com/mus/stories/..._feature8.html

Same car, same owner.... Sorry to be like this... he loves the car and his others also and does enjoy it... it's a beast on the road, like I said except right now the underside is coated in oil from a blown rear seal... booooooo

might just be a different car or the seats changed? i do not know... maybe a 6 cyl. in 1968 but I think they all went into baldwin with the 396's? I do not know much about them excet I have seen a ton of their cars from the vettes, camaros, and monte carlos only because I am from NJ and had family in Baldwin LI... Seems like quite a few of their cars can still be seen at a local cruise night on rt. 23 in northern NJ on Thurs. nights.....

Btw the one tribute car I see does have bench seats, light interior and a 427 on the hood, This car has full black buckets and no 427 emblem on the hood..... Just saying.... Sorry I am defending so hard here, it's just he is the nicest and most honest guy you can ever meet.... He was a 2nd or third generation restaurant owner here in RI and has since retired and sold it to his daughter, and would do anything to help anybody out. Plus a retired High School teacher....

I would love to see vintage pictures of this car in the late 1970's, as the current restoration looks like they replaced all of the unique items with reproduction ebay items. Real numbers matching car?

Chew, you really seem to be quite the champion for this guy and his car. This site is full of nice guys so ease up and try and look at a bit more objectively- at least for 1 post.
