You may recall my friend ajesh had an identical car in the '71 display at MCACN. Bittersweet mist/Pearl white. I thought it was his til I read the article.

That is exactly what I thought!

BTW; wait until you see what Ajesh has in store for MCACN 2012. Buicks will be coming on strong for us this year.

I saw the "ajesh collection" while I was in Chi-town. He may let me borrow one of his to display for '12

I too had a 1969 Buick Stage 1 Diplomat blue? hardtop in 1972 (2nd year of High School). The car had every option you could get in 1969, power / reclining passenger bucket seat, tilt, cruise control, a/c ect. It was a factory car out of Gross Point Park Michigan, I was the second owner. That car would beat Olds W-30 442's, 440 Chargers & Ram air GTO's all the time. I wrote Buick in 1976 to ask for production information on the Stage 1 1969 cars. I believe they said there were 1275 Stage 1 cars made in 1969 with 212 of them being convertibles. The torque that car had was unreal! I sold it in 1982 when I got married. Memories.....

I'll have to ask Doug if he has some pictires .When I think back The car was in a used dealer auction sale .and I wanted Doug to buy the Mazda "cheep on fuel" No Doug said he wanted the old yellow one .Boy was he right .It needs the roof redone and painted .It is white in side with bucket seats and a hi stall automatic with a no spin Rear end . Doug has since engineered in the oil patch all over the world and his lates car is a 911 Carrera Porsche and his bike is a 2012 Decatti Diavel Carbon 0 to 60 in 2.6 seconds .It all started with the Stage 1 .For those that don't know Buick kept quiet about the Stage 1 because Doctors drove Buicks and the Co didn't want them to know they had made this muscle car

I have most of the Muscle Car Revue magazines that ran alot of articals on the GS Stage 1 Buicks .They didn't get much publicity .But there was alot of big blocks that only saw there backside .In the top fastest 50 cars they were third place next to the 427 Corvette and the 427 Cobra ,much lighter cars .

Yes, and all the HEMI-cars were slower. The Stage 1's huge torque made them quick from the line, the HEMI's came at the top end but didn't catch up quick enough.
