I believe the car was an international blue convertible. I remember seeing it at a show in Lake Forest IL for the North Shore Corvette club about 10/12 years ago. I think the owners name was Howard. I wish I had more for you.

Thanks SBR. When I was about 8 years old, maybe younger, this was the first corvette I had ever seen and I was a corvette lover ever since. This was about 1972 best guess. A few years later my dad bought a wrecked corvette and rebuilt it, which was the same car. My dad had the car for several years and ended up trading it and an airplane for a helicopter in about 1986. By then the car was far from original. It had a 74 front clip, 77 rubber backend, M21 trans and a 350 2 barrel from a 72 impala. But had the L88 hood, radio delete plate with I think an oil pressure guage mounted in it and had glue remnants from a sticker in front of the e-brake handle. The history of this car I new of as a kid was: Andy Africa-Daryl Ray-Tim Loyle-my dad-? My dad and I were never 100% sure that the car we had was an L88. Now I would just like to know where the car is and what kind of shape it is in. I have a lot of found memories of this car from my teenage driving years. I would love to see this car in its original glory if indeed it was a true L88. Thanks for your interest.

If it is the same car the OP is referring to then the answer is yes.

I think that was that car. When I first saw this car as a kid it was a darker blue than lemans and I think it had a black vinyl hard top which after my dad had it he changed it to white vinyl and painted the car white. When my dad got the car it was white with purple motion style stipe on the back and had a girl silhouette in sunset airbrushed on the L88 scoop. From what I understand Andy Africa had a 67L88, 68L88 and maybe other vettes, so its possible the vette my dad had was a different car. I read a post on this forum from years ago talking about Johns 68L88 and 69ZL1 and how the L88 still survives today. That is why I am posting here now. Thank You

Try contacting the North Shore Corvette club, maybe someone can provide more info for you. Rich Stratton was the president at that time and he may be able to help you. I know that Kevin Suydam has an international blue convertible but I don't think it's the same car.
