It's not corrosion, that the casting grain. It looks like the casting grain is flattened to the left of the VIN. And in that same vein, am I seeing things or is there a ghost image of another three to the left of the 3 in the red car's VIN?

Does look like a 3 to me.
Also I'll add that there are more real W30s here in Chicago then most realize (including mine) and yes some fakes and plenty of horrible "tributes. But I know of a few real ones that have been sitting in garages for years with documentation, POP etc. I'm still trying to locate one of them, the guy moved out of my neighborhood years ago, never drove it much and now it sits in his garage. Will be a barn find for someone if they beat me to it. PS, I have no issue with the tributes, its a great looking paint scheme and one of the nicest looking hoods ever made, so why not. |
