GMNOS: Thank you for posting your Camaro L30. I have a similar 67 Camaro made about 5 months prior to yours but at the same plant. Mine is a 10C LOS L30 RS with a floor shift 3- speed. That means it also has a 10-bolt rear with standard PA 3.08 gears. I bought mine in Sept. of 1976 with ~80,000 miles. It was not modified much with only dress up items added such as 14x10 chrome slots & L60 tires on the back and chrome reverses on the front, The engine had a chrome air cleaner, chrome oil filler cap/ breather, & aftermarket Accel chrome coil added. While the drive train was all original at the time I bought it,young foolishness on my part resulted in the original block & heads now being gone, but all of the other drive train components & attachments are still in place, even the original lower radiator hose. I also haven't driven this car in about 25 years. This leads me to some questions from all who can help and are interested.
A simple, or maybe not, question about the disc brakes; which my car does not have but intrigues me. I note on the picture of the "window sticker", no listing for the 14x6 wheels which were optionally available on non SS cars. Do your Rally Wheels have the 14x5 DA code by the valve Stem? I always thought the non-power disc brake MC's were strange. Any idea why Chevy did that? Was the same setup potentially available on full size, chevelle, & nova's in 1967 if power brakes were not ordered separately? What about the Corvette from 1965 to 1967? Did this disc brake version disappear from all lines in 1968 and make power disc brakes the only way discs were available? Next, I am interested in some small details from your engine picture. As I said, I purchased mine in 1976 and believe the engine had never been out or messed with much before I bought it. I have no recollection of the black 275 hp decals on the side of your valve covers ever being on mine when I bought it. Can anyone confirm those decals should have been on my 10C build or that an engine dress change might of happened. Or could it be a maybe/maybe not type situation? 2nd, like I said, mine had a chrome oil cap breather added and possibly the owner at the time may have thought the tube down to the intake manifold would look better in chevy orange as that is the only way I have ever seen mine. I understand your car and mine are not the potentially more valuable SS or Z/28's, though yours certainly is due to low miles & condition. Mine could also be with some money and time invested in it, and I slowly am, it is not a beat up, rusted out, or modified car; and most original components are still there and being a 10C build, has many of the first design parts or lack of the parts added later during the production run. These kind of small details on any car just fascinate me. Any comments or questions are greatly appreciated. Just in case anyone is interested, here is the cowl tag for my 67. Both of my Camaros' are listed in the CRG database. 10C 0700 67-12437 LOS 6152 BODY 760-Z R-R PAINT W 2G 3L Loren
