Re: 1969 Z28 Stripes
I just looked thru my pics and confirmed - I don't recall seeing a sloppy painted Z10/Z11 cowl. It appears like they were more careful with the orange overspray - probably cause it was bright and visible. Black and white stripes didn't seem to be a concern.

</div></div> Kurt I am curious as to your IPC data sample size for images...roughly how many cars on file with verified original cowl paint? (Z-11's and Z-10's) |

Re: 1969 Z28 Stripes
Can we move the pics and Z11/ Z10 stripe discussion to a different thread please. This one is for Norwood Z28 stripes and how the firewall and cowl panels were painted.
Thanks. |

Re: 1969 Z28 Stripes
Stefano:
I know you asked for ORIGINAL and these pics are from last year. I took detailed photos upon disassembly, but can't find them (pre-digital camera days). I can tell you that the black paint on the top of that tulip (may be wrong terminology) is factory original paint. I did not respray that area. I only cleaned it off. It is the original black paint. The only white overspray on there is so light a camera will not pick it up. Just a few tiny specs, almost microscopic in size. If I find the pics taken during disassembly, I will post. All I have are my notes indicating that the "white out" ended abruptly at that seam, and that it continued along closer to the windshield. Although, I can see no reason for it to continue on there other than that is where the guy with the spray gun shot it. You can't see that area through the vent panel.

Re: 1969 Z28 Stripes
One more detail to add... this blending element was done by two men located across from each other. Each man would each spray his respective side of the front plenum chamber and meet in the middle.

Stefano:
This is the original cowl vent panel off my 08A Norwood Z/28. It is original paint. I still have the panel, and can take close ups if you want. Lynn
