Bow on the package.........LOL.......A nagging little issue that I had with the car since it was put together was that it had a slight tire squealing issue when making a right turn......after numerous alignments and seeing the results that everything was in spec........I accepted it as being normal with the Ridetech suspension........The car rode and handled perfectly, just that slight squeal ..........So.......After installing the same suspension on Gary's 65 and didn't have any tire squeal at all.........Hummmm!!!!!!!......So....after finishing the Chevelle....the Impala has pretty much been sitting in the garage.......But.......I had to resolve that issue...After calling Ridetech and explaining the issue with them and thinking that it might be a Ackerman issue...we checked a few things and I was told to count the steering wheels turns in both directions off of center.......Duhhhh!!!.......1 1/2 turns to the right and 2 turns to the left......When the car was first aligned.....the steering box wasn't centered in it's travel when aligned.......thus.....the tie rods from the drag link to the steering arms weren't the same length ........which resulted in the turning radius error and thus the slight tire squeal..All fixed now.......LOL.....Sheesh.........This car stuff is Hard!!!

I had the same thing with my Camaro when I bought it. In my case it was more like one turn right and two turns left. It had a very large turn radius going to the right :-)

This post(and many others) have proven to be invaluable! I have the same crappy rear set up on my 59. I was chasing some noise in the rear brakes (after I straightened out the master / booster issue) now that the rears work the way they should.

I thought you had a post about this set up................so I looked it up................and JACKPOT!

All of your work and grief provides more than just some entertainment for myself and others!

BTW, aren't you due to build another car?

Thanks Ken!

After taking everything apart.....again.........I found out how untalented I am..........Here's what I found.....when I installed the rear pads there is a stud on the inside face of the inner pad that was "SUPPOSED" to key into a slot in the piston......Sheesh!!!

This car stuff is hard!!......I also ordered a new set of axles as the old ones had some corrosion in the seal areas and that's what was eating the seals after a period of time...I guess it's just called "Fine Tuning"....LOL
