What is wrong with this ad?
Wouldn't this sound like a great deal at first? Looking at the car you would think that it was a good deal. Even if you read the ad over without thinking it through it still sounds like a good deal. To the uneducated it sounds like the perfect car to invest in. Right?
Then they come here and ask for your advice. You look at the picture, nice, you quickly read the ad, very nice. Then you REALLY read the ad. What do you see? 1970 Camaro Z/28 for sale That's why they come here! Rick H. |

[ QUOTE ]
This 1970 RS Z-28 was stored for 20 years and recently brought out and made into a daily driver. This car features the original 350 and 4 Speed M-21 power train with 105,000 original miles. This is a southern California car with a great body and a nice original vinyl top. This Z-28 comes with the factory RS package and includes power steering, power brakes, factory rims, dual exhausts and new black interior. The car was originally Cortez Silver but was changed 20 years ago to Hugger orange. Engine block codes are Block # V0513CTB OL524133 and the vin # is 124870L508328. The engine and transmission were rebuilt 2 years ago with receipts available. The owner would like to sell this car to make room for his other collector vehicles. This is a numbers matching car. [/ QUOTE ] Block # V0513CTB OL524133 and the vin # is 124870L508328.

Re: What is wrong with this ad?
It sticks out if you know what to look for. He actually says "number matching car" at the end of it all.

Re: What is wrong with this ad?
Looks like a real early car, maybe Jan. and a May motor, with a partial Vin on the pad that is a bit strange. Hard to believe it's just a typo!! Nice looking car, I really like the Antenna!! Nice

Nice looking car, I really like the Antenna!! Nice [/ QUOTE ] Come on Jack, you pay extra for that option and makes a great conversation piece. Here is another one. Seeing that 70 Z/28's are a hot ticket these days. I looked at this car personally and there is so many things wrong with it I lost track. I went over it for a few hours and I just kept shaking my head. It is a combination of about 3-4 different year Camaros. This car has been on ebay a few times and sold a few weeks ago so I imagine the high bidder was not too happy when he saw it. I like how he says the trunk has rust in it. I would say so, when I looked at it there was rust and a piece of sheetmetal pop riveted to the trunk floor. It has some nice parts if someone wanted a parts car. Check out the VIN and the rest of the numbers. Talk about way off. Also check out his question and answers. Of course he didn't post the one where I questioned the numbers. If I remember correctly the cars trim tag was 06A so I was thinking this car had a VIN switched out on it. Plus a gazzilion other things. Another perfect 1970 Z/28 Rick H. |

Re: What is wrong with this ad?
I was curious if anyone knows the story on this car since this is an old blog. The reason I ask is that is the Vin# of my old SS Camaro blk vyl over silver! I even have the data plate some where in my garage for it! Sold the car about 27 years ago.
