In my opinion, the 73-74 SD-455 is still the most impressive powerplant of the muscle car era. A steel intake, EGR system, .410 lift cam, 8.4 to 1 compression, no Ram Air, 3.42 gears (3.08 with a/c), super restrictive exhaust, and pushing a 3600-3800 lb car. There was SO much untapped potential there.

And yes, with all that, they cornered like they were on rails.
