Hi Andy,

At this point I'm signed up for drag racing and plan on attending. Several folks have reached out and offered assistance in getting me down the track safely. This will be completely new for me! I'm in for the truck rental.

I also plan on having the car on display in the Non-Super car area on Saturday. I will have all my documents with me. I encourage any member here to stop by and introduce themselves.

I have been in touch with Reliable and I have a price on renting a truck for the SCR, but right now I need 3 or 4 cars to make a full load. Anybody in Detroit, Toledo, Cleveland, Columbus or Cincy who wants to bring their car but needs a way to get it there please send me a PM.
Thanks

Lots of talk of people racing their cars at SCR 18. Are there classes? Is it all just for fun, being just who you end up lined up against in the staging lanes? Can &quot;bracket racers&quot; race? Late model cars OK (SRT Dodge)? Clones? Stock '73 454 SS Chevelle? Just wondering what all can race and what kind of format the &quot;races&quot; will be held under.

Thanks

No brackets/format, just a play day for sYc members.

Our goal is to attract as many real supercars as possible, giving them the opportunity to run their cars without having to deal with a bunch of other racers. As in the past though, members are welcome to run cars other then supercars.

Thanks Tom. So &quot;sYc members&quot; is anyone who is registered with this site, or is it just people who have the legit supercars ( copo, ZL-1, L/89. etc.). If someone is registered with this site and has a 1973 Chevelle SS 454 (stock), but doesn't own a copo, ZL-1, etc, can he, would he be welcome to make a few passes with the Chevelle? On street tires? I guess he would have to pay an entry fee?
Might help someone getting ready for the Pure Stock Musclecar races in Sept.
I'm new to this site, so just trying to find out.

Thanks Again

Yes Tom, SYC members include anyone who is registered on this site. You do not have to own a supercar to be welcome at the dragstrip on Friday. The track day, one banquet ticket and door prize eligibility are all included in the $100.00 registration for the Supercars that will be in the show on Saturday.
To help offset expenses we will require a $50.00 fee for any car that will be racing at the track on Friday that is not going to be in the show. Additional banquet tickets will be available for $25.00 each.
Everyone is invited to the banquet as well.
If you have any other questions please don't hesitate to ask.
Thanks, Jamie

BTW. I would suggest booking early, as this is a busy time for hotels in the Bowling Green area. </div></div>

Those who have not reserved a room yet, may want to do you soon, as the host hotel is starting to fill up.

Since the beginning, whether drag racing, non-judged show, etc, the SCR has been about &quot;thinking out of the box&quot;, that is, not simply doing things because that is what other shows do. Well, we are excited to announce that at SCR18, besides the new location and facilities, we have added another very unique feature to the event. While at the track, Jim Parks, who has a Nova that runs in the 8s, has gotten permission from track management to let folks ride along with him as he does his burnout, stage and launch. Jim will lift once he hits second, but not before one gets to the experience the g forces from 1.20s 60'.
