I think we have a few on here from Western PA.
Does anyone ever go to the big car cruise in Wexford on Friday nights? Depending on how things go at work this week, I might jump in the Nova and drive across the state this Friday. My parents usually go every week with their Black '70 Chevelle convertible. I'm overdue for a road trip in a classic. The MD to AZ post below reminded me of how much fun it is to hit the road and rack up some miles in a vintage Chevy! |

Make sure you have a tow rope, fix a flat , duct tape and coat hangars......Lol
Its a huge event , except they lost the upper lot which cut capacity . Still the BEST in Western Pa .......with or without I may make it in the '74 Malibu... .

I saw some pics of the cruise on a FB page that I belong to (Wheeling-Ohio Valley Car Culture Scene) and there looked to be a lot of really nice cars there.
Man, I miss those northern car shows and cruises.

Finally made it for the first time a few weeks ago for Camaro night and the best part of the show (we were a bit on the late side) was a Nova hatch back with a factory tent. I'd never seen anything like it.

Ended up going Friday. Made it there and back in one day. 350-400 mile roundtrip in a '65 Nova - manual steering, no A/C, and no OD. Car still averaged between 18-19 mpg (two fill-ups) running 3100-3500 rpm on the PA turnpike.
Decent MPG for a good running 355 with a 217/225 @ 0.050 108 LSA cam. My hours and hours of Q-jet tweaking seem to have paid off, as it cruises at 15.0-15.5 a/f ratio on the wideband meter. I shoulda won some kinda long distance award or something! LOL |
