I want to thank Doug, Tom, and Jamie along with the whole group for the honors. I sincerely appreciate it. Very nice event. Beench Bend is a spectacular track. It exudes nostalgia. Being in the Corvette museum with the cars was pretty cool too. But as always, it's the people who make it what it is. I got to set and visit with Ed Hedrick for quite a while. What a great guy he is. I wish I knew a fraction of what he does about motors and racing. Thanks to Benny for getting him out here.
I hope everyone made it home safe, and thanks again. The Mayor |

This was my first Super Car Reunion, but I must say it will not be my last! Got to meet a lot of great people, see a lot of nice cars, and hear a bunch of interesting stories! Not to mention the guest speaker at the banquet! I could listen to those stories for days! I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as myself. I'm already looking forward to next year!

My last pass at KilKare on a TT night (Thursday) we went a 11.34 and were warned by the track about not having a roll bar. Ed Hedrick said back in the day ...Grumpy always wanted the cars to leave at 140 degrees ....hence cooler motor makes better passes </div></div>
Mine picked up power across the board with the water/oil at ~110°/140° vs. 160°/170°. With the MPH that thing's pulling, I wouldn't be making any major engine component changes at this point--maybe some carb/ignition testing to try to bring down that 60'. You should be able to get that down into the 1.40's which by itself will take the car well down into the 10's. Is the car still spinning the tires? I was wondering if they said anything to you about that 11.34 @ Kil-Kare--I have a friend who's been 11.20's in his car with no bar and so far they haven't said anything to him. When you go through tech, do they check your car for the SFI stuff--balancer, bellhousing, loop, etc.? When I went the tech guy told me I didn't even need to open the hood--"that car's too clean" were his exact words lol. I went ahead and opened it for him anyways, all he checked was the battery hold-down and the puke tank. (If you haven't seen it yet, there's a track report in the Chevelle build thread). Anything I can do to help, anything you need from me, just ask. |

With multiple testing sessions...we found the car loves air pressure....so we have gradually increased it to 19-20 pounds depending on the track As well as the launch ...between 4800-5,600 depending on the track as well. Usually a lady techs my car in at KilKare ...she checks my helmet and looks under the hood. I do have all the safety items..loop, bell housing etc...just not a roll bar. I won't put it in the Copo I will talk to Dave about coil, ignition and carb.....that is the only thing holding the car back ...is the 60' best ever was 1.597 Driving a stick has its challenges and rewards in every pass

I'm in the same boat--don't want to put a bar/cage in my Chevelle, that's one of the reasons I sold my old Pro Street `67, I hated climbing around that stupid cage. No way in hell I'd cage a COPO car either.
Driving a stick car is a lot of fun---but my old ass needs a LOT of practice to get my mojo back---probably looks more like I'm trying to do the Curly Shuffle when I'm driving mine. |

Eric ...I know you remember when I was running lower tire pressure at KilKare driving the stick ....I was getting busy with the steering wheel and you could see it from the stands. Fun but edgy If you can you should bring your car to next years SCR19 ...my guess it's 4 hours from you
