A little update.........It's sort of funny how things work out.........After finishing the Chevelle and driving it for the last two summers......The Impala was just sitting in the garage........So.....I take it out for a ride and appreciate that car all over again, except for two things.......#1....I realize how bad the brakes are in comparison to the Chevelle.....Now.....I bought a complete CPP 4 wheel Disc Brake system for the car when I built it.......Had lot's of issue's and I guess I just accepted it being what it was as normal.......LOL.....So, I realized there were things going on that I wasn't smart enough to figure out.......I took the car to Frame-up Wheelworks in Waukegan and asked them to get the brakes working correctly so I could enjoy the car as it should be........What they found was that my Engineered kit that CPP put together and sold was not sized correctly.....the Vacuum booster was too small and the Master cylinder was not sized correctly......I didn't have room for a bigger Booster so they replaced that system with a Hydro-Boost setup..........LOL.....Can you say "Brakes".......I would have never guessed there was that much "Stopping" power already on the car , but with the improperly sized system ......Well.......All I can say is that buying a System from a name (???) brand supplier, you would think they would have everything sized correctly.....Sheesh!!.......
#2......Power......LOL.........LSA engines are the only way to go........So.....I was going to add a Magnacharger to the Impala to provide a little more torque for daily driving........I was getting all my Ducks in a row to get everything figured out for the Winter upgrade......

Then a friend of mine put his car up for Sale and blew all my plans up........A new build thread will be starting shortly.........LOL......

Ken

496--572 will solve that "little" engine lack of torque ... just kidding ... LOL

The 57 already has a big block.... Soon to come out, I would think! It's a beaut... And I love the interior!

BTW...was the car formerly owned by Floyd and Jean?

Another issue is the expiring availablity of stock BBC parts. Some places the only engines that are available are "crate" engines. I think that is the reason all these "Loose Stool" (LS), computer tuned engines are being installed. Its getting to be like a butt -- everyone has one ... how history repeats itself!

LOL....You think the use of LS engines is because of the lack of available big block parts ? This weekend the Wife and I will start driving my 953 hp pump gas LS engined Camaro from Denver to Kentucky via Oklahoma with the AC on and doing it on pump gas. That is why we use the "Loose Stool" engines. Kwhizz will be yanking the aluminum headed big block out of this Nomad and doing something similar to what I have but less hp. We like headache free driving and I have done the big block thing to death. No comparison from a guy that has done both. Drive a big hp LS engine for a month and try to go back to a big block.

Not to mention, it you are worried about the supply of big block Chevy parts, it sounds like Charley and Ken are increasing the supply.
