Looks like a nice solid RSZ, in hugger orange/white, one of my favorites. Likely a non-spoiler car, missing the decklid Camaro emblem.

agreed, my black car I think has X80 on the tag, so this one probably should have the same. Will look for the missing emblem holes. It is missing the emblem on the grill, so who knows. Need to study it again. I spent most of my time looking at another car, and saw this late, on the way out. I was well on my way deep into the mopar dark side lately on the muscle cars, and the 'force = chevy', drew me back....when I saw this old space craft just sitting there....

I am not questioning if the trim tag is real but that is earliest X33 I have seen. In the past I have seen 12C being the earliest. I just learned something new.

12B is ok for X codes, definitely the earliest they started. The rear spoiler looks properly painted, check for the different diameter torsion bars in the trunk for the decklid (spoiler equipped cars). The motor if it exists would most likely have the vin on the front pad for an early Dec. assembly.

As an aside, a Q for the experts here:
Do the DZ 302's have the VIN number anywhere else than on the front pad? I have one in my '68 that came from a '69 Z but they decked the block so those numbers are gone. Wasn't sure if they ever stamped them elsewhere on the block.

The early LA built '69 Z28s seemed to be more commonly vin stamped above the oil filter while the early Norwood built '69 Z28s were on the pad early in the production (3rd & 4th quarter '68). By Jan '69 both plants seemed to move the vin stamp to the oil filter area although both plants seemed to use either location in the last months of '68 and into '69. The LA plant used the front pad for the vin stamp well into '69, at least as late as March of '69 some LA built cars have vin stamps on the front pad.
