Default Re: Yenko stolen

This sucks for Ian. BUT from what is being reported, this isn't what the usual theft that a native does? They usually just smash and grab, not spend the time to load up, take a few blocks, and dump EVERYTHING. There are far greater rings then that of our natives.

Also, the article above, Ed Wiens and Ian BOTH stated that that this car is insured for far less then what the replacement could be had for? That is a bit of a concern if that was one of my cars? I wonder why that is? Are they saying that this, maybe a "nice" clone, was significantly then say a legit/real Yenko??

The funny part of this, (if any of it is funny) is that Ian bought his racecar '69 Camaro off Donnie Hill. A full blooded native that until he was married, lived on the rez. AND BEFORE any of you think anything, DONNIE would never have any involvement in this, he's a great guy and a friend to most and has offer to, or help plenty in this hobby.

Yes. Please check my post. I have altered documents, photos and have listed the vin #. If this is the same car... and I believe it is, this site and some intense research save us from buying a car that was offered to us as a REAL Yenko for $110,000.00.
Thank you, Charley for making this site available to us.

Default Yenko Clone stolen

Here's your other post below and welcome aboard Brenda!
Same Vin Charley posted earlier also really great to hear you discovered the trickery in time.
Whatever news report names you're referring to, best keep in mind that the car was stolen from a recent purchaser who at this point we should refer to and consider only as an innocent victim.
Whether duped into thinking they bought a real car or not, hopefully they're truthful w/ their insurance adjuster being values of genuine Yenkos and Clone cars are VERY different things.
Again whatever the whole story turns out to be, let's hope they catch the crooks!

If the Vin # on this car is 124379N691195. This is, as you can check, NOT a Yenko. I believe this is the same car that was offered to us a few weeks ago for $110,000. After we did a extensive amount of research and found that most all paperwork had been altered including the Orginal owners name and address. Contacted orginal owner he stated that it is NOT a Yenko ,he built it as a clone. He is in no way connected to this deception of this car.
The names of the stolen car,in the news report today,....just happen to be the same ones trying to sell it to us!
"STOLEN" ?????

Thank you, Pete. That is exactly why I didn't refer to any certain name.
I think my husband should buy my dinner....I just saved him $110,000.00 if this is the same car.

Nicely done Brenda and it sounds like you're up for an expensive dinner!
Being before the theft also expecting it has nothing to do with it, it'd be nice to see the hokey paperwork/altered documents posted here w/ innocent names obscured where necessary?

Bill in Texas built the car as a clone and showed it at Super Chevy etc. Won many awards. Sold it about 1998 as a clone. A Police detective contacted him today and he set him straight. He had it at SYC 1.
