Pure Stock is the way to Rock:-)
I will purchase a heat riser and assemble the system as Oldsmobile made it, I can imagine on cold mornings this will help get the engine warmed up and running smoothly more quickly. Less gas smell at start up, and a little more drivable is more in line with my goals. I plan to put miles on this car:-) Ryan

I love to share each silly detail of my project, it feels good to share it with Y'all, it keeps me motivated!!!! I have one request for the creepers out there.......... If you see me heading down the garden path please send me a note or post your opinion, I can only take one path but I do not know this stuff like a lot of you guys and I need to figure out each tiny item and pick a cost effective appropriate plan and git-r-dun. (for example a heat riser valve, lot of ideas, lots of options, a little back and forth, a little research, and now I have a plan) I better get cracking and do something so I can show some actual progress:-) Ryan I hope to find a nice F85 in 2020 and build it specifically for PSMCDR:-) A lot of items you will see that I am compromising not only based on cost but also I am steering this rebuild towards drivability.......... a purpose built "KILERW31" would be fun too!!!

"If you are really wanting to enjoy the car for what it is - then go stock. Is what I would do.
If you are trying to have a faster car at the track than eliminate the heat riser.....but really, how much faster will it be to eliminate it? I just answered your question, leave it on. If it were my car.....I would restore it all to 100% stock appearing and everything working as is it should. People will appreciate it much more of what you are doing to the car. Plus it will be worth more all original :-) You can still enjoy racing it at PSMCDR's - heat riser and all. That is my two cents." Dan's note:-) Rya

If the heat riser is working correct -- it has almost no impact under WOT. Exhaust gas will push it open. TAZ
