Can't guess how many of the "...assembly line correct" clips shown on the right we have had to torch off when the nut breaks off the clip as torque is applied to the bolt. Why do you think the design was changed?
I would never re-use those. |

I have a couple mint sets for my personal cars and I'm going to use. I'll take my chances with them possibly breaking, but I want factory assembly line parts. lol

Consider the assembly line cage nut single-use only; anti-seize won't help if the nut snaps off the clip before proper torque is reached. When that happens you can't remove the bolt. Saw many a Camaro parts car back in the day with holes hacked into the floor to get them out. |
