The guy I sold the black car to, Bob, did a phenomenal job restoring the car. It is probably the most accurately restored 72 455HO on the planet and certainly the rarest. I would have loved to have kept the car but I could not find any reputable body men up in my neck of the woods to paint it, and I had found Enrico's SD455 at the time, as well. So t all worked out in the grand scheme of things.
Bob sold it last year to the guy who is flipping it now. That guy paid 6 figures for the car from Bob.
If I wasn't doing the purple 'cuda, I'd probably bid on it.
The 71 Cuda ragtop at auction again is crazy - whoever bought it last year from Dana Mecum paid $1,155,000 for it. Amazing car - that engine has never been touched internally. It was a monstrously quick car back in the 1980's. So cool to have a car run like they were supposed to and not a modern rebuilt version of the engine.
