Had to tend to some tedious little things with the car tonight but did take a couple more pictures to show that I wasn't sleeping. Also, glad I trimmed out the perforated section on the firewall pad around the column and didn't try to install the end of the column through the small opening in the firewall pad. I forgot what a PITA it was to get those little 5/8" screws through the lower seal and into the caged nuts on the firewall. I would have been cursing if the firewall pad was also under there as it took everything I had to to get those screws to bite with only the foam seal in place. Pedals are now swinging free and the booster is sitting pretty as well. Things are moving along here.
