CC Rider was it an Auto Trans car?
Had a '77 Pontiac T/A do that to me once.One of the Valve body bolts came loose,and dropped down inside the pan,preventing the internal Shifter mechanism from moving any further..The trans was stuck in PARK and wouldn't move. I had to remove the TH400 pan to see what was what. Easy fix..Hope the Buyer got the car for a song..
