There are on going problems with John Deere. You have to have a laptop with their software to see what the problem is. It is amazing how well it works but we cant fix anything other than simple stuff. Makes you have to wait for a technician, pay for a service call and their hourly rate is getting horrible. Twenty, thirty, forty year old tractors have been escalating in value at levels similar to our muscle cars.

In my area the smaller family farmers, under a couple thousand acres, have been driving up the auction prices of clean low hour pre-computerized tractors and combines that they can service and repair themselves, in the field if necessary.

And yet, the Deere facilities in my town keep building the largest Deere 8R and 9R as fast as supply chains allow.
