I would certainly agree to this. I would think that they had to plan in advance as to how many units to produce based on orders and order history. Especially at the end of a particular model, which I think in this case the '837's lasted until 1971, if they were in danger of running out a special run may be scheduled or even other alternators substituted. Isn't the only difference between and '837 and an '834 the deep groove pulley?
