I overhauled one of those engines in a 67 Mustang in my buddy's driveway without ever pulling the block. Actually had a universal on the torque wrench and socket to get to a couple of head bolts. Although the engine ran fine (at least it quit using oil, made no weird noises, and had no leaks) until he sold it, it was a LOOOOOONG way from getting blueprinted.
Probably should go on the list of stupid things I have done.
