They do work but they're not intended for long-term use. I've used them a couple of times on fresh builds to facilitate post break-in inspection.
If you do install one, you need to watch oil pressure like a hawk--if it starts to drop excessively it needs to be shut down immediately as debris may be clogging the screen--and since there's no form of bypass, if it gets clogged the engine gets zero oil. |
