Default Another Cutlass Supreme, 455

This is an interesting ad, if only for the description of flaws; fiberglass rear quarters(?), rust in trunk, etc. At least they come clean with plenty of photos to show you what you're getting into. None the less, cool car to play with if bought at the right price.

Someone more knowledgable about Oldsmobiles than me can correct this, but no spoilers were available in 1972 and they were never available on a convertible.

It appears there are fiberglass repair panels for the lower quarters and then blended in with filler. I've never seen that, but it's possible the fiberglass, or carbon fiber, was hand formed in a mold. Either way, this car is a mess. Lower fenders and doors are loaded with filler too and the general, overall, unkempt appearance seems to indicate a rust bucket brought back to life to flip.

Strange to see the 442/Cutlass S Fastback quarter panels mixed with the factory Supreme quarters.

I noticed that too, the two fender lines are completly different. Did they take a Cutlass S and turn it into a convertible or add the Cutlass S rears and add it to a Cutlass Supremen convertible?

It started life as a Supreme Convertible looking at the paperwork more closely.

I believe "J" in the VIN denotes Cutlass Supreme.

I had a 70 Rallye. That looks like a roof cut job, wrong lines where the convertible top meets the fender/trunk area.
