Maybe something to do with the design of the 6 cylinder radiator upper tank. Looks like it would have required it's own style fan guard with the cap opening more toward the center.

When you see the production numbers of the 215 six cylinder, it makes you wonder, as there were MANY. Duh, I know, the six cylinder only has 4 small blades on the fan. 🙄
