Pretty car, for sure, but has a super fresh appearing trim tag and some odd history on Google (including a previous sale on Copart that I can't access). Thoughts on the trim tag, besides the fact that it's clearly been removed from the car at some point?

Yeah, looks WAY too perfect even to my untrained eye. I bet the tag on that ultra low mileage Aztec bronze survivor doesn't look that pristine.
And let's make sure to leave the parts store tag on the alternator ![]()

I would have to assume it's a clone based on lack of details, dates, and stampings. I bought an original drivetrain L-79 Nova back in 1985 for 6K. Regal red with black bucket interior. Wish I had kept it as now they are asking 85K for clones. Sounds like the 69 Z-28 market.
Also black was a rare color for 66 Chevy II's, much less an L-79. Probably why the trim tag is a repop.

Somebody couldn't even be bothered to respray the black in the rocker trim after they cleaned it. But they painted the gas tank. Missing the chevy II medallions on the door panels. Looks like the "327" trim is too far down on the flags too. The super sport script is too far down on the body line, and too far forward (at least on the drivers side). At least they got the right location of the SS grill trim.

No hood emblem, no medallions on seat backs, 1967 instrument bezel, no clock, all SS equipped cars had clock, incorrect oil fill tube, cowl shows rear antenna,,, no antenna , wrong washer on shocks towers, incorrect location for exhaust outlets, no redlines in 66 on Chevy II’s , wrong wipers, no wood steering wheel in 66, and no 3/16 hole drilled in cowl tag for seat belt bracket. I’m sure there’s lots more, But it looks great in black and it has correct 66 wheel covers.
