Default Re: Turbo 400 and L88

Everyone seems to be on the money with the code of this TH400, I have found it to be applicable to a Camaro or Chevelle not a Impala. But that could be the same code for those three cars. I have a 69 L-78 SS Camaro equipped from the factory with a TH 400 transmission, and this was the first year you could RPO a TH 400 behind a solid lifter big block equipped car. "CX" code wopuld be for a ,L-78,L-89,L-72, and ZL-1 equipped Chevelle or Camaro or Nova. A "CY" TH400 would be the code for a 69 Corvette. These transmissions are VERY rare and hard to find, and they have external differences in the casing as well as some internal heavy duty part applications. Send me an e-mail and I will send you pictures of a CX showing some of the part differences...............Joel
