Default front wheel hubs

I am rebuilding the front end of my 69 camaro and have discovered that I need to replace both front wheel hubs. These are for drum brakes.

I have seen "used" hubs from Rick's First Generation Camaro. These are the only ones I have seen.

Does anyone have experience with these or know where I can find any others?

Thank you.

I'am curious to know why you have to replace your hubs. Under normal use, they usually don't go bad.

In any case, I've got a set from a 69 6-cylinder parts car I've had for years. I know the history of the car and it was never abused. May still have vintage 1969 grease in them. I can part with them for a fair price.

Let me know if your interested.

I'm going to put in a shameless plug on this one.

I need 1 hub casting L36474R

I have a mixed set and would like to match this one, I have no clue of the original application. And I want mention this is for a Pontiac, any help would be appreciated.

The inside of the hubs are severely worn and scorched. I don’t know what happened to them but they were seriously abused and are not safe to keep on the car.

I have had similar characteristics on one of my previous Novas. The problem turned out to be a worn outer wheel bearing that eventually exploded, allowing the outer race to ride on the inner race. The heat turned portions of the spindle blue, but I was able to use a puller to remove the inner race from the spindle, and reinstall new bearings. However, I don't think I was ever able to replace the outer race and therefore was subject to annual bearing replacements on that particular wheel. Not sure if it's the same symptoms, but possible.

You should have no problem finding a good used hub at some salvage yard. that should not be a hard one to find right there in OKC area. Wait till spring and go to some of the swap meets.

Sounds like the bearings and/or races got out of wack for whatever reason. Make sure the spindles are not blue in color and the bearing surfaces are not damaged.

When looking for replacement hubs, understand that front drum and disc are different.

If I can help you out, just let me know via Email.
