Hi Paul, Yes the differential had the original 4.10 dated gears and Eaton 4 series posi. Was definitely original to the rear. Just bugs me that it is not stamped for posi. Just opens up questions for us original guys. I guess your BV rear is stamped for posi?

Yes, mine is BV0417G1 E. It also has the original 4.10 gears and Eaton Posi.

Here is a picture of the BV stamping in question. Does anyone see anything odd about the stamping? It does not have the "E" stamp on it.

Maybe the E was missed at the time of stampings...Possible!
I just noticed that your BV and the above picture BV with the E, they both have the B and V staggered equally with the V up higher...interesting! ![]()

On rearend stamps, it is like they did not use a gang holder. You see on some BE rears the letter codes are not straight either. Roger
