Default 1970 L78 Camaro?

I was just at the St. Paul, MN CC Nats and saw what was supposedly a '70 L78 Camaro...rare enough...if even legit but it had Nickey emblems above the SS fender tags and what looked to be docs in a binder in the back seat. The owner was not around to answer questions when I saw it.

It looked, for the most part, stock so I'm guessing that even if it is an L78, that Nickey was just the original dealer and not a dealer 'modded' car.

Does anyone have any input on this one or heard of it or one like it?

Norwood 70 L-78 would have L-78 on trim tag!!!! Did you see 6500Red7000Max Tach if gauge optioned. Without seeing Norwood Trim Tag, LA Build sheet or CKO & VIN stamping on block it is hard to verify a REAL 70 L-78. Look for Original Paint Black Tailpanel, Chrome Tip Tailpipes, but usually gone.

It was an LA car so nothing but that it was originally Med. Blue.
Non U14 gauge option, did have a 12 bolt, incorrect pipes, incorrect shifter ball for console car. Did any of the L78's come w/ open element air cleaners that you've seen? I meant to go back and dig further but ran out of time. I would have liked to have checked the sway bar mounts and fuel line(s).

I just posted the pics on the registry thread:

Would a car built at the LA Plant even be sold at Nickey?? Long way to ship a car when Norwood is pretty darn close.

Red Camaro appears to have repop shroud, incorrect SS emblems, trim tag re-riveted......w/o seeing REAL Build sheet........difficult to verify HOW that car left which factory.......let alone NICKEY!!!!

My L78 is an LA car and was sold new in Illinois. In either case could have been a dealer trade.

Yes, Nickey received and sold Van Nuys built cars, which were ordered new at the dealership and were not dealer trades.
