Re: 1le camaro investment ques.
Don't hold your breath. They are already fifteen years old and the ultra low mile cream puffs barely pull sticker. There was a huge disparity in production totals for the 3rd gens-they made four in 88 and like 700+ in 91.The biggest handicap is most folks don't know what they are,and that includes 80% of Fbody enthusiasts.Cool cars in my book, wish I still had my 88.

The first rule of car collecting, buy cars that you like.

Re: 1le camaro investment ques.
Personally, I think they are great cars, the ultimate sleeper for it's day - however, I don't think they will become a good investment, not enough flash to attract the average investor.

Re: 1le camaro investment ques.
One sold at auction last year for $40K I believe. But it was a real low mileage car and I think it was red. I know quite a few of those 1LE cars are already long gone and parted out so I would think the survivors will go up in price.

Re: 1le camaro investment ques.
I like 'em too...we were just talking about them in that drifter car thread last week. .
Clean machines aside, personally I'd be looking for the cleanest example of one of the 'Player's' cars w/ the best race history I could find. . You'd want to get the logbooks for sure also documenting the race by race history would be fun and you'd be able to take part in some weekends at the track too! . All this not forgetting I'd want to consider what may be available in an ex-cop car example too! . Have fun! ~ Pete

Re: 1le camaro investment ques.
There were 2 player cars for sale recently for under 20k each.
As far as not being known... most people did not know about COPO camaro's 15 years after they were built either... there were plenty of people who said that there was never a factory 427 Camaro in the mid 80's.

Re: 1le camaro investment ques.
I have a '92 1LE but as has been mentioned here, I bought it because I like it. There are better cars for investment purposes.
