First it's not for sale and last I've known about it for years. George is a great guy who does excellent work. He did the engine and suspension build up on my BB pace car.

I'm not sure the car you are talking about, and whether it was at Mecum...the car Ed used to own is Harry Snow's old car I think...if it was the Bellflower car, it is the car that had the seams at the quarters under the rear window filled in...If the car at Mecum is Ed's old car...it has been around a lot longer than 4 years...and to my knowledge was never green

I think you mean L89...

I stand corrected it is an L78. Probably had L89 on the brain from the other thread.

Steve-

There was a L89 that went off Saturday, Lot # S197 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS. I don't know what it went for or the history of the car. Also don't know if it had any docs or not.

Here's a link to it.

Anyone know anything about this one...

Tom

The color of '70 Chevelle Convertible is clearly marked on the build sheet- it was an original green car.
Options: Power Steering, Power Disc Brakes, Buckets, Console, AC, Tilt, Fiber-Optics( fender turn signals, low fluid monitor, turn signal indicator mounted on rear seat), Rear Window Defogger, Every lighting package available, Power Windows, Power Door Locks, Power Convertible Top, Tinted Glass, Door Edge Guards, on and on.
The flapper hood is not on the buildsheet.
Runs and drives just like it looks. They had to push it off the block only because the battery was low. A charge brought it back to par.

The auction results have now been posted on their website. Everyone has their favorites to follow. Some that I followed.........

* the 25 mile red 70 Chevelle LS6 - no sale at $330,000
* 70 Olds W30 Convt. - $175,000
* 69 Blue/White Z28 - sold at $204,750
* 70 Chevelle LS5 Convt.(no docs) - sold at $89,250
* 70 Chevelle L34 Convt.(with docs) - $136,500
* 66 Biscayne Black L72 - sold at $53,550
* 70 LS6 El Camino Silver (docs?) - no sale at $50,000
* 68 L89 Chevelle - sold for $76,125
* 70 GSX White - no sale at $90,000 couple others sold for less
* 70 Z28 1 owner 23,000 miles (docs) - sold at $57,750
* 70 LS6 Chevelle Blk. Cherry (docs) - no sale at $75,000
* 70 LS6 Chevelle (Gold, I believe, with docs) no sale at $85,000. Item S180....looked nicely done.

A mixed bag of results I thought. COPOs looked to struggle to reach seller's expectations.
