Default Re: Crane Cams points conversion

The shop that did the points conversion for my big block Nova only uses the Pertronics as he said the inherent design of the Crane doesn't allow for any wear in the bushings of the original distributor and the timing could bounce around. I would have loved to have the rev limiter but thought I should heed the voice of experience.

I have a remanufactured distributor that I could use, so the worn bearings shouldn't be a problem.

This distibutor is for a 455 olds, but not necessarily the correct one for my W30 4 speed. Think it's for a 71 442 auto.

What else would I need to do to the distributor? What is really different between one distributor part number and another?

How much does it cost to get an original re-built?

Joe
