I had a great time but, I was chasing my tail the entire weekend. The track, as stated was CRAP on Friday and the air was very bad. Most everyone was down 2-3 mph.

I managed to meet some new friends and had the toughest shootout race that I have ever had. I had to pull a great light for my second race against Bruno's friend "the Sandman" and his '69 rally green SS Camaro 396 pictured above. I managed to run a best of 13.51 at 101.7 for the weekend. I also managed to get the new tires to hook and I got my first sub 2.0 60'.

Bad1--nice pics!

#2 Jimmy Johnson 11.88 at 120 - 1969 L88 427 Vette
#3 Rob Clary 12.35 at 115 - 1969 Yenko Camaro 427
#4 Paul Petcou 12.37 at 111 - 1969 1/2 SUper Bee 440/6
#5 Jim Spetzman 12.40 at 109 - 1969-1/2 Super Bee 440/6

#7 Mark Weymouth 12.50 at 111 - Pontiac GTO
#8 Tim Clary 12.51 at 112 - 1970 LS6 Chevelle

JJ ended up winning the Quick 8 shootout, running an 11.70 to Bob K's 11.8x...I got tree'd & then spun bad...still went a 12.37 @ 117, but couldn't run down the Goat.

Rob, after I was done whining to you about the track, I had 2 runs of 128+ & then knocked down an 11.49 in the FAST consolation ladder, maybe I was jumping to conclusions. You're right about the greasy track on Friday though, I was still getting some serious wheelspin down near the lights.

Congratulations to Rob Clary setting his all time mph at 117+. The yellow submarine is blistering down the track.

Dad and I both had a good time. I ended up racing instead of spectating and had a best of a 15.01, and again as stated above, friday the track would not hook and i could not get better than a 2.34 sixty foot. Saterday was better and I ended up winning my shootout. Thanks again to Rob and Johnny Kat for helping "Plug" the check valve on the power brakes. Congradulations to Eric Simpson who also won his shoot out, and to everybody who won or had personal bests.

Reid

Some pictures and video from the event can be found here: http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=131776

Seems I was probably the only one from the site that choked down and lost their shootout...
