Default Re: Fake VIN - rat him out??

[ QUOTE ]

Sure, it makes sense to let someone explain a legit reason for a replacement Vin...just the foolishness and trickery of recent years has made the few valid reasons suspect and soured me away from any of it. .

[/ QUOTE ]

I agree. If someone had replaced the original VIN tag and can show me the old one, I would still consider buying the car. Otherwise, who is to say that the car was not made up from an old Protect-o-plate or GM docs? For example, some guy could get hold of some Canadian GM docs showing an L89 car or COPO and then after ensuring it has been scrapped over a decade ago, could then "resurrect it from the dead" by buying a VIN plate and trim tag. Fraud at it's worst. I am sure it has been done in the past and will be done again.

What '67 Beaumont deal? .

I will scan the article tonight. Some guy kept hounding you about this red 396 TH400 '67 Beaumont convertible that someone you knew had. I think he lives in CT or VT and also has a '68 Beaumont.
