Charley,

Now this would be a treat to see this car going down the drag strip at SCR10.

This car is in good hands with Charley

Dan.

That thing is simply cool beyond words.

Charley, have you actually been able to put in much seat time in that monster? I can't begin to imagine what it's like to literally "pilot" that thing! (not to mention what sort of response you'd get from your local constabulary if they saw that tooling down the road!)

Those engines are way cool. In the YouTube clip there are some comments about John Dodds RR with a Merlin engine. I saw that car and heard it when it was at an autoshow in Stockholm. He drove it across Sweden in 3hours on a road that normally would take 6 hours and in the night in March. The week after when going back to England the car caught fire and burned to the ground. I think they built a version 2 of that one.

Some years later when in high school we had such an engine in the schools engineering shop. A couple of guys in my class had a project to run the engine and I helped out some. It was an amazing sound when it came to life. This engine came out of a WWII bomber and had exhaustpipes that were only 10" long. Brings back great memories.

Cool car!
