The letters and the **** is just e-bays latest attempt to keep higher $ bidders anonymous, by scrambling the id's. That's not their real I.D.s.

edit: oops, late again.....

Slightly off topic. Has anyone else noticed this strange trend of what seems to be a number of bidders with user names such as b***a? All with "***" and a letter before and after?

[/ QUOTE ]

Darren-- that is ebay's new privacy policy to stop scammers from obtaining bidder names. If you search all over ebay you will see the "****" in increasing numbers.

Howard,
I just discovered this thread. I'm close enough to go look at it for you, BUT I don't know squat about Camaro correctness. You'd have to tell me exactly what to look for. PM me if you're interested and we can talk.

Is the car worth more than he is asking? If it is, maybe someone could get in touch with him and cancel the ad, then relist with updated info and pictures once someone can get there to help him. Just a thought, hate to see him lose out, bad enough he has to sell.

This is an LM1, it might be rare but it's not very desireable. I think the RS option is a bigger selling point than the LM1 option.

Rich,
IF I do go look at the car for someone here, I might be asking you for some details as to exactly what to look for, Camaro in general, as well as LM-1 specific. I also feel bad for the guy and could only imagine how I"d feel if it happened to me and I had to sell my cars.
All I can offer is to be on the scene, with eyes and hands, guided by the experts ahead of time or over the phone while I'm there.
I would be happy to do that for nothing to either help the buyer or the seller.

Anyone available to inspect the car for me?

[/ QUOTE ]

Item location: Englishtown, New Jersey, United States

I figured it couldn't hurt to bump this up with the location.

If I were a Camaro guy in the area, i would jump at the chance to hang with Verne and help a car guy !!

20-25 is about right, maybe less right now as the market is down some. 3 owner car, if it's not torn up and a RS on top of the LM1 helps. Really, it was about him having a better ad, and showing some of the LM1 specific things, 12 bolt, TTag and Suffix.

Marlin, as far as the LM1/RS goes, are you really saying that you would prefer hidden headlights on say, a 6 banger than the LM1 and assoc options, which were essentially the same as a SS (12 bolt munice etc)on a non rs car? Really?

Mudjnky, excuse some of these guys, they rib me about the LM1's, if it's not a big block, they don't care, unless it is a Yenko Deuce (oops, forgot Marlin, that's the same motor as my 70 "COPO" Z28 ).

Verne, if you go look at it, feel free to call me on my cell and I can assist with any LM1 specific options.

Finally, remember guys, this is about helping someone, and if the situation is what it is said to be, sucks for him. I can only imagine what it would be like to be out with my kids and have that happen, and then have to sell my car on top of everything else.

The LM1 thing is really not important here, IMHO.

Rich
