Totally Agree. What ever you can do to keep the car & engine together, is so much easier now then say a few yrs from now when they are physically seperated and 2 different owners.... Goog Luck. Hope you can land it. Bob

If he's really your friend then you should be honest with him about the value of the car. Don't try to steal it from him. If he's really your friend maybe your honesty will pay off and he'll sell you a really cool car at a fair price. Just my .02, Ed

Its refreshing to see so many have taken this point of view. That's one more reason I like this site so much!

Good luck!!

I agree with the no taking advantage rule myself as far as friends are concerned.....

But don't give me the b.s. that if someone could buy a Nickey car for dirt cheap they would'nt do it themselves. Sure being friends with somoene is different, and honesty should prevail, but if it is just word of mouth yeah, I think people would get it dirt cheap if they could.

The friend knows what the car is and i'm sure he knows its worth, but, the car belongs to his father and the dad told my friend that he was'nt getting the car in the will. His other son (who isn't even into cars!)is supposed to get the nova. Anyways, i talked to my friend today and he says his dad did buy it new right from Nickey solely for street racing, so he removed any outside/visual clues as to the cars potential. Yes the father still has all the original documentation for the car. My buddy told me his dad might sell the motor out of it because he has a 70 Chevelle 454 he wants to put in it. So should i feel bad if the dad sells me the motor? I don't know. I agree the car should stay together (which is why i would want it!)but if the dad is in the know...why should i let some non-enthusiast schmuck get his hands on that motor?

I would buy the motor at any cost and then work on getting the car in the future. At all cost, keep the motor and car together.
