What gear are you using? That will be a factor in determining the height of your rear tire for track use. A 275/60/15 is tall and reduce your final drive ratio. Sometimes giving up a little width will reduce the rolling resistance and a shorter tire will maintain your drive ratio.

Lotsa guys have gone very fast with the drag radials, many of them have a retard box so they don't blow the tires off and can gradually add the timing in.

ET Streets are a very good track tire with short trips to the drive in. Drag radials are awesome for a car set up specifically for them, or for a nasty streed car around town and maybe some highway.
