Black engines would retain and make HP faster that the orange color and the white headers, gas tank and undercarriage reflected heat to keep things cooler and maintain HP. Did it work or was it a good theory? I have a vinbtage set of headers that I though were Cragar but see that they are exactly!!! like Hookers back in the early 70's. I am beginning to believe that Hooker made them for Cragar.

I had a set of Blackjack headers on my chevelle back in the late 70's. They were painted white and were supposed to clean themselves as they go hot.
